Stay in touch with your loved ones through seamless video calls, and even if you have family members at home while you’re away, our Fibre Broadband keeps them connected and secure.

Fibre is a wired connection to your home. You can’t take Fibre with you in your motorhome or caravan when travelling BUT when travelling for an extended period of time remember you can put your Fibre subscription on HOLD.

 

Flexibility ā€” Turn your Fibre off with 5 days’ notice* when you want to travel.

If you’re heading away for an extended period of time and don’t have anyone remaining at home that needs to stay connected, you can give us 5 days’ notice to put your Fibre connection on hold! (*after one-month minimum activation).

Both Fibre plans include a $50 modem discount and a monthly plan discount of $5 per month. A portion of the revenue of each connection goes back to the NZMCA to help improve member benefits and parks!

How to get set up

I already have Fibre installed

  • A quick and easy process as there is no landlord or neighbour consent required. The modem will be shipped to you within 5 working days and all you need to do is connect the modem to the Fibre ONT (white box) located inside your home.Ā 

I do not have Fibre installed

 

  • We will manage the installation process between you and the technician.
  • Wireless Broadband may be available for you to get online quickly while you wait for the installation to be completed.

Product Terms & Setup

Modem & Setup

Open term: $149 modem & setup (Discounted from $199)

12 month term: Free modem & setup (save $199). Early exit fees apply*.

5 working daysā€™ notice when you wish to cancel or switch to Portable WiFi (after one-month minimum activation).

*The early exit fee is 1/12 of $149 for every remaining month on a 12-month contract, plus the value of any promotion offered during signup. E.g. if you cancel with 5 months remaining on your contract, the early exit fee will be $62.08 (this is 5/12 of $149).

Installation Process
Enjoy free standard installation, with two options for your needs:Ā 

Option 1: You already have Fibre installed

A quick and easy process as there is no landlord or neighbour consent required. The modem will be shipped to you within 5 working days and all you need to do is connect the modem to the Fibre ONT (white box) located inside your home.

Option 2: Install a brand-new Fibre connection

Map out your install plan

When we receive the order, weā€™ll get in touch to arrange for a Chorus technician to meet you at your house to talk through the work required and agree on your installation plan. The meeting takes approximately one hour.

Build your fibre

Next, the build phase from the road to your house. You donā€™t need to be at home for this but it helps if you are contactable by phone, in case we need to make any changes to what was agreed. Weā€™ll link the fibre from the street to your property and connect it to a small box installed on the outside of your house called an external termination point (ETP).

Make the connection

Once weā€™ve linked the fibre cables to the outside of your house, itā€™s time to get you connected. You will need to be home for up to four hours for this visit as we bring the fibre connection inside and complete the setup.Ā 

If an additional site visit is required for complex installations, there may be extra costs incurred.
