Full Speed Data means we do not throttle at Wireless Nation. The average peak hour speed is 31 or 38Mbps download, and 14 or 23Mbps upload, depending on where you are. Actual speeds may be faster or slower, depending on your distance to the nearest tower and how many people are using that same tower simultaneously. Speeds are from the Commerce Commission’s Measuring Broadband New Zealand (MBNZ) June 2024 report.

Check Availability

Type in your address slowly and select the correct address from the drop-down options. This will check if your address is in Rural Wireless coverage, and whether you need an antenna on your roof, or only a plug and play modem.

Rural Wireless Facts

Rural Wireless provides fast broadband to areas outside the urban copper and fibre networks. It uses long-range fixed wireless towers to provide broadband coverage to homes and businesses within range.

If you are in plug and play coverage, the wireless signal is received straight from the modem, meaning there’s no need for an antenna to be installed on your roof. We make it simple by avoiding the need for an installer saving you valuable time and money. If you find yourself out of ‘PnP’ (Plug and Play) coverage then you will need to have an aerial installed on the roof of your home or business.

4G speeds are usually fast enough to stream Netflix smoothly and use multiple devices connected to the internet at once.

Factors such as the performance of your modem, the distance you are from a cell tower, the network capability, the overall use of that cell tower by other customers, the performance and age of the devices you are using, and your in-home WiFi setup, can impact the speeds experienced.

This is a best efforts residential service and is not to be used for business or re-sale.

It can take up to 3 hours for your data to renew from midnight on the 1st of every month — this is due to the large number of connections that need to get processed through the system.
