What to Do If Your Mobile Calls or TXTs Aren’t Working
If you are having trouble making calls or sending text messages on your phone, try these simple quick-fix steps:
Quick Fix Steps
- Check your coverage bars. Look at the top of your phone screen. If you see no signal bars, you may be in a temporary network blackspot.
- Toggle Airplane Mode. Turn on Airplane Mode in your phone settings, wait 10 seconds, and turn it back off. This forces your phone to reconnect to the nearest cell tower.
- Restart your phone. Turn your phone completely off, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on. This resets your phone’s internal wireless software.
- Check your SIM card. If your screen displays a “No SIM” error, turn off your phone, remove the physical SIM card tray, wipe the gold chip clean with a soft cloth, and reinsert it firmly.
Tip: If you have zero mobile signal bars at home but your home Wi-Fi is working, go into your phone settings and ensure Wi-Fi Calling is turned on. This lets you make calls and send TXTs using your home internet connection instead!
