12V Adapter Recall

This recall only affects the above 12V adaptor with a white sticker and our logo printed in colour (blue and red) supplied between August 2021 and February 2023.

In early March 2025, we sent affected customers an email regarding a potential issue with a specific 12V adaptor we provided for use with the portable WiFi modem. At that time, we requested customers to closely monitor the adaptor due to a reported overheating incident.

Following further investigation and an additional report since of the same issue, we have made the decision to issue an immediate recall of the 12V adaptor pictured.

We are concerned that further units might overheat, melt, emit smoke and potentially cause a fire if flammable materials are present. We understand this may cause concern, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Our customer’s safety is our utmost priority.

We ask those customers affected by the recall to do the following immediate actions:

  1. Stop Using the Adaptor Immediately: Disconnect the adaptor from your power source and modem. Do not attempt to use it again.
  2. Return the Adaptor: We require you to return the affected adaptor to us as soon as possible to ensure it is out of circulation.
  3. Please ship the affected unit back to us at Wireless Nation Ltd, 2 Fred Thomas Drive, Takapuna, Auckland 0622

Please include the following information in your shipment:

  • Your full name
  • Your mobile phone number
  • Your Wireless Nation account number (if you have it handy)
  • A copy of the receipt of your shipping cost (we will credit reasonable cost incurred by you)

Choose from the following remedies:

  • a new replacement unit sent out to you (please include your latest address); or
  • a credit on your next invoice; or
  • a refund to your bank account (please provide name of account and account number).

Why are we recalling these adaptors?

We have confirmed reports of these adaptors overheating, melting, and emitting smoke, posing a potential safety risk. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our customers and are taking this action to prevent any further incidents.

What to expect next:

  • Upon receiving your returned adaptor, we will (as quickly as possible) either provide you with a replacement or process your credit/refund as requested.
  • We are working diligently to understand the cause of this issue and will take all necessary steps to prevent it from happening again.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us

We appreciate our valued customer’s support in this matter and once again apologise for any inconvenience.
