How fast is it and what speeds can I expect?

The average peak hour 4G speed is 44Mbps download, and 17Mbps upload — speeds are from the Commerce Commission’s Measuring Broadband New Zealand (MBNZ) April 2026 report.

The average 5G speed is 200Mbps download and 30Mbps upload, based on Commerce Commission’s estimate of speeds on 5G wireless plans.

Actual speeds may be faster or slower, depending on your distance to the nearest tower, your location, and how many people are using that same tower simultaneously.
